A finished photo only tells you so much. Here's a closer look at homes we've built across the Okanagan: the problem each one started as, the decisions that shaped it, and how it turned out.

The startFeathertop began, like most of our best decisions, with a spreadsheet. Land up at Big White was still genuinely affordable, and the numbers made sense, so we bought it and built. It's the financially-sound-first thinking we bring to every project, applied to our own.
The buildWe broke ground before COVID and finished in the months right after everything shut down. Building straight through the uncertainty of those early months. We did nearly all of it ourselves, hands-on, start to finish.
The resultWhen it came time to sell, we furnished it completely. One trip to the Urban Barn warehouse, the whole home staged in a single go. It's the only home we've ever sold fully furnished, and it sold quickly. Proof that a well-built, well-considered home finds its buyer. Even in an uncertain market.

The startMountainside is how we ended up in Kelowna. We were living in Whitehorse, ready for a change, so we did what we always do. Put the options in a spreadsheet and let the numbers talk. Kelowna made sense. We bought the lot before we'd even seen it in person (my parents went and looked for us) and made the move to start fresh.
The decisionIt was early in our journey. We designed the home ourselves, with a one-bedroom suite built in from the start, and Josh did the framing and managed most of the build on the ground. The suite wasn't an afterthought; it was designed in, because we believe a home should help pay for itself.
The resultOur own home, built around how we wanted to live, earning its keep at the same time. When we tell clients to build income into their home, Mountainside is the home we're standing in when we say it.
