West Kelowna is helping pay for these.

Through its Grow a Suite Grant Program, the City of West Kelowna is actively funding new carriage homes and secondary suites. Snapshot as of September 2026:

Grant of up to $7,500. 25% of construction costs or $7,500, whichever is less, credited to your property taxes after final inspection.
Building permit application fee waived. A $150 to $500 saving on top of the grant.
The catch. Funding is capped and first-come-first-served, applications close December 31, 2027 (or when funds run out), eligibility criteria apply, and you commit to not short-term-renting the unit for three years.

West Kelowna plays by its own rules. We start there.

West Kelowna is not Kelowna. It's a separate municipality with its own zoning bylaw, its own permit process and its own fee structure. A builder quoting you Kelowna's rules is quoting you the wrong city.

So before any design work, we check your specific lot against West Kelowna's current rules. Zoning, setbacks, height, parking, servicing, and what your slope means for cost, with real numbers on all of it. If it doesn't pencil, we'll tell you that too.
